Report blames congestion for rising costs at Southampton port

Online logistics news service The Loadstar has recently reported on rising costs for shippers at Southampton port.  Blame is assigned to congestion as a result of new contracts and larger vessels, and a related rise in demand for haulage services.

Regardless of how well equipped the terminals at Southampton and other similar ports are to handle extra traffic, limited local infrastructure and service providers may produce a long term trend around the busier UK ports..
